This was revealed by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare - Anupriya Patel at ASSOCHAM's Women's Health Confluence in New Delhi. She also listed several initiatives that the government is undertaking to combat the rise in Non-Communicable Diseases such as Cancer in India. Govt to set up 20 State Cancer Institutes and 50 Tertiary Cancer Care Centres - Anupriya Patel, MoS, Health and Family Welfare The government of India plans to set up 20 State Cancer Institutes and 50 Tertiary Cancer Care Centres. The Minister added that the biggest challenge in combating Cancer was early detection and outlined the government’s approach to the problem.
