Goods and Service Tax - An Introduction


Well, to put it simply the GST is a destination-based tax on consumption of goods and services. It is proposed to be levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption. The credit of taxes paid at previous stages is available as a setoff. Rolling out in July this year, it is expected to completely transform the Indian tax structure.
