ASSOCHAM - President’s MESSAGE Mr. Sandeep Jajodia , 50, is a result-oriented leader with a vision to achieve milestones in the industry and sports with a passion for improving the quality of country’s human resource. He heads a well diversified Monnet Group of companies with interests in steel, coal and real estate. Born in Kolkata, Mr. Jajodia grew up in Delhi and went to St. Columbus School and the Delhi University for his honor’s degree in commerce. Endowed with a business park at an early age, his entrepreneurial skills helped him build Monnet Group. As a sports enthusiast, he has been supporting the Indian boxing which has earned global laurels with several medals including the most prestigious Olympic medal. Monnet Group became the first corporate to associate with the Indian Boxing Federation (IBF) by being the official sponsors of the Indian Boxing team.

Govt. to conduct door to door screening to combat cancer: Anupriya Patel, MoS, Health and Family Welfare The government is planning to adopt a population-based screening approach for early detection of cancer. This was revealed by Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare - Anupriya Patel at ASSOCHAM's Women's Health Confluence in New Delhi. She also listed several initiatives that the government is undertaking to combat the rise in Non-Communicable Diseases such as Cancer in India. The Minister spoke of the importance of women's health for the country and commended ASSOCHAM for its initiatives to create awareness about such critical issues. Smart Finance for Smart SMEs I Digital Assocham Banks are feeling constrained by the new RBI norms for NPAs. This was said by the Director, External Affairs, Power2SME – H. P. Kumar. He was speaking at the ASSOCHAM’s conference on Smart Financing for Smart SMEs in New Delhi.  He added that since the situation demands such measures, the banks must follow the rules. Addressing the gathering Vice President for Business Development, Capital Float – Vaibhav Singh observed that humans accumulated and stored enormous data during recent years.  He added that today lenders can leverage all sorts of data to better assess the creditworthiness of prospective clients. Also present on the occasion was the Regional Head – North for SMEs, Hero Fincorp – Parminder Singh Cheema who noted that the there was great demand for finance for SMEs.
